Les Gigantiques

Alt Gothpop Shoegaze Country

Who are Les Gigantiques

Les Gigantiques are an Alt-Goth-Pop-Shoegaze-Country band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Originally conceptualized as a 4-piece, they have recently grown to a 5-piece, and, for especially special occasions, a 7-piece. The founding members are Conrad Montana and Gary Reimer, who have been part of storied Calgary bands including The Cripple Creek Fairies, Reflecting Skin, The Shinolas, and Red Autumn Fall.

Both members of the rhythm section are veterans in their own right. Doctor Rock has struck the skins on stages across Canada with Constable Brennan, The Deadly Skulls, and Agriculture Club. Josip Vulic similarly has held down the bottom end in Sleeping Lorry and Slow Talking Walter. The newest member, Cam Gillies (Playground Treason), weaves in a third guitar, creating an immersive wall of sound that has quickly defined Les Gigantiques' live shows.

Their eclectic sound has drawn comparisons to The National, Pixies, Love and Rockets, The Jesus and Mary Chain, R.E.M., Television, The Velvet Underground, and The Modern Lovers, among others.

Les Gigantiques' live show has been described as engaging, intense, and orchestral. "If you've ever seen Conrad live, you won't soon forget it," says Darren from The Sonic Collective.
